SALEM, IN – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will continue its Chase for the Championship this Saturday, as part of the 33nd running of the Central Transport Glass City 200 presented by the Hampton Inn and Courtyard by Marriott at Toledo Speedway, located in Toledo, Ohio. This will be the fourth straight season that the ARCA/CRA Super Series has been part of this prestigious Glass City 200 that will feature the ARCA/CRA Super Series in a 100-lap feature event and the ARCA Gold Cup Outlaw Late Models in a 100-lap feature event.
2018 series Champion and 2020 series Regular Season points Champion Josh Brock, is already locked into the final four Chase for the Championship drivers who will race for the season Championship at the Winchester 400, and leads the series points heading to Toledo Speedway. Michael Simko, a former ARCA Menards Series competitor, is second in series points after getting a second-place finish in the series first Chase event on September 6th at Lebanon I-44 Speedway.
2016 series Champion Cody Coughlin, who has two series wins so far in 2020, sits in third place, nine points behind Simko. 2017 series Champion Logan Runyon is in fourth place, he is six points behind Coughlin. Series rookie Jaren Crabtree is in fifth place, he is six points behind Runyon. 2019 series Champion Greg Van Alst is in sixth place, he is six points behind Crabtree after having to use another competitors car to start and park at Lebanon I-44 Speedway after losing the engine in his brand new car in practice. All six Chase drivers are entered for Saturday nights race.
Other top CRA drivers entered include former series Chase competitor Hunter Jack, Harold Fair Jr. who won a Toledo Speedway ARCA/CRA Super Series event 20 years ago, and Fair’s teammate Hayden Sprague. Also entered are Brandon Varney who picked up his first ever CRA win on August 22nd in the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman at Anderson Speedway, Cayden Lapcevich, who won the ARCA Gold Cup Outlaw Late Models portion of the Glass City 200 in 2019, series 2019 event winner at Flat Rock Speedway Brian Bergakker, along with local Michigan racers Jeff Versk, Brandon Tregemmbo and Chris Munson who are entered to make their series debuts Saturday night.
On Friday, September 18th, there will be optional rig parking from 6 pm to 7pm. There will be no unloading of equipment on Friday.
Race day begins on Saturday with pit registration opening at 8:30, pit gates will open at 9am. Practice will go from 12pm to 3pm on a rotating basis with the ARCA/CRA Super Series teams receiving two, 30-minute sessions. Qualifying will begin at 3:30pm. Racing will begin at 5pm with the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models eight lap heat races, the ARCA/CRA Super Series 100 lap event will be up next, followed by the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models 25 lap feature, the ARCA Gold Cup Outlaw Late Models 100 lapper will cap off the evenings racing events. The rain date if needed is Sunday, September 20th.
