KAUKAUNA, WI – When two-time and defending NASCAR Cup Series Champion gets behind the wheel of his Rowdy Energy/Hy-Vee Toyota Super Late Model this Tuesday night at Wisconsin International Raceway, understand that the NASCAR Star is there because he truly enjoys racing at America’s Short Tracks against top drivers like ARCA Midwest Tour Champions Ty Majeski and Casey Johnson. Busch will be joined by a stellar field of Super Late Model drivers from across the nation for the Gandrud Auto Group 250 featuring the ARCA Midwest Tour.

“The state of Wisconsin has some talented drivers and passionate fans, so it’s usually great racing and a fun atmosphere. (Ty) Majeski is always tough to beat up there, and you have a lot of other guys from up that way who have a lot of laps around that place like Dan Fredrickson and Casey Johnson who will be in the mix.’ Noted Busch. “It’s always cool to go back to Wisconsin International Raceway because that’s where we got our very first Super Late Model win as Kyle Busch Motorsports back in 2007.” Kyle Busch won the Gandrud Auto Group 250 in 2007, the first of three career ARCA Midwest Tour wins for the Las Vegas, NV driver. His other two Tour victories came at The Milwaukee Mile in 2008 and 2013.

“Super Late Models are really fun to drive and just like with the Truck Series I enjoy getting in my own equipment a few times a year to help evaluate where our stuff is at. It’s usually hard to find races that fit into my schedule during the NASCAR season, so glad we were able to add this to our schedule and have KBM have a presence at another big race.” Busch said during a recent interview. “Here lately since Seth Holbrook (Super Late Model crew chief) has been overseeing things and working alongside Rudy (Fugle, Truck Series crew chief) we’ve been having better runs with Sammy (Smith).”

Smith, who is also slated to run in Tuesday’s Gandrud Auto Group 250 lap feature, won on opening night of the World Series of Asphalt at New Smyrna (FL) Speedway during February Speedweeks. The rising star from Iowa also posted a second place at Jennerstown (PA) Speedway and finished third in the Redbud 400 at Anderson (IN) Speedway last month. Tuesday will mark Busch’s first Super Late Model start since winning at his hometrack, the Bullring at Las Vegas (NV), in late February of this year.

Advance discount tickets for the Gandrud Auto Group 250 are $20 and can be purchased online at www.midwesttour.racing through August 3. Tickets will also be available on race day at the gate for $25. Spectator gates open at 4pm, qualifying will begin at 5pm with the first race at 7pm during the Tuesday Night August 4 Special Event at Wisconsin International Raceway.

A 28 car field is scheduled to start ‘Wisconsin’s Richest One Day Race’ which pays $10,000 to the winner of the 250 lap event and $1,200 to start. Drivers from ten states and Canada are expected to attempt to make the starting grid. The Midwest Truck Series will join the ARCA Midwest Tour with the trucks contesting a 35 lap feature event.
