MOORESVILLE, NC – Dominion Raceway is also the home track of Bristow, Virginia’s Jonathan Findley. The Lee Faulk Racing and Development driver competed at Dominion Raceway’s predecessor, Old Dominion Speedway, before its closure in 2012. Between Old Dominion Speedway’s closure and Dominion Raceway’s opening in 2016, he went south to race at Southern National Motorsports Park, where he won the 2015 track championship. Findley, who is making his second start in the CARS Tour at Dominion Raceway this weekend, is hoping that the jump to Lee Faulk’s team will make the difference at home.

“It’ll be interesting considering I am not with my family-owned team, especially being that close to home,” Findley said. “It’s only 45 minutes from my house. I have a lot of family and friends that are coming to watch. We’ve raced there once this year with my family and it didn’t go too well, so I’m hoping for something better.”

Currently in his second season of CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car racing, Findley is still chasing his first top-five after a string of rough finishes.

“I hope to perform better than I did at Hickory this past weekend,” he said. “We just missed it on the setup. The car was good — it turned great, it just turned too much and lacked forward drive and it definitely showed. It’s been frustrating, considering the year we had last year, and this year hasn’t been much better. We’ve had good cars everywhere we’ve gone, but just haven’t had good luck.”

Three different drivers have visited victory lane in CARS Tour races at Dominion Raceway. Layne Riggs and Jared Fryar won the pair of races when the series made its first visit in 2017, and Josh Berry scored the win a year ago.

CARS Tour Implements Guidelines to Prevent Spread of COVID-19

Until further notice, the CARS Tour will continue to implement policies to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. The policies were introduced at Ace Speedway on June 6. They include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • All personnel will have their temperature screened before entering the race track.

  • Driver Intros will not be held amongst the crowd, per usual; instead, drivers will be introduced from their cars on the grid.

  • Trailers will be spread out across the infield to maintain proper social distancing.

  • Spotters will be required to wear masks during the race.

  • Masks will be strongly recommended for those who are in the infield and required for all Victory Lane celebrations.
