KAUKAUNA, WI –Woodville’s Alex Stump became the fifth different winner in as many weeks, leading every lap en route to victory in the 35-lap super late model feature at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna Thursday.
Stumpf outraced Maxwell Schultz from his pole position at the drop of the green of the 35-lap contest. The Woodville ace didn’t have much time to build upon his margin as an amber flew just two laps into the books when Corey Manders and Trevor Vandermolen tangled in turn four while battling near the tail of the field.
When racing resumed Stumpf maintained the lead with Grant Griesbach hot on his heels. By lap ten the duo has pulled away from the field slightly with Griesbach sticking within a car length or two for the next several circuits. While the pair built up a heavy margin over third place finisher and fast qualifier Jeff Van Oudenhoven, Griesbach wasn’t able to pull off a pass and Stumpf collected the checkers. Griesbach settled for second, followed by Van Oudenhoven, Maxwell Schultz who made his first appearance of 2020 and last week’s feature winner Bobby Kendall.
