WISCONSIN DELLS, WI – In what may very well become an ‘old is new again’ trend for asphalt super late model racing, the ARCA Midwest Tour has announced a $1,000 to win ‘Club LaMark/Dave’s White Rock Last Call’ as part of the Joe Shear Classic 200 at Dells Raceway Park on Labor Day Weekend, Saturday night September 5.

With support from Club LaMark, Madison’s Racing Bar and Dave’s White Rock Bar and Grill, the 30 lap contest consisting of those Super Late Model drivers not in the main event field will pay $500 to start. In addition to the $1,000 top prize, the Last Call Winner will also receive a custom trophy from Wehrs Machine. Should the winner of the night cap race enter the next ARCA Midwest Tour event, the Oktoberfest 200, they will also win a set of Hoosier Racing Tires.

“The B-Main used to be common place on asphalt,” noted ARCA Midwest Tour Promoter Gregg McKarns. “We were able to boost the last chance pay at Kaukauna (Wisconsin International Raceway) and it made for a better show. More drivers took a chance at making the big race.” McKarns has observed that very few asphalt Super Late Model fields throughout the country, including his own have more cars entered than starting positions. He feels many teams will stay home if they feel that they may not make the show, only getting to race a handful of laps. “At the end of the day, we want drivers to come race. If they don’t make the main event, they now know they have another crack at it and I believe it will make them better racers in the long run.”

The Joe Shear Classic 200, traditionally held the first Sunday of May at Madison International Speedway is now being held at Dells Raceway Park Saturday night September 5. A 25 car field will start the 200 lap feature which pays $10,000 to win and $1,000 to start. Joining the ‘Stars and Cars’ of the ARCA Midwest Tour will be the Midwest Truck Series and 602 Late Models.

Spectator gates will open at 3pm for the Holiday weekend special event, with qualifying at 4:30 and racing at 6pm Saturday night September 5. Adult general admission tickets are $25, Seniors (65 and over) and Students (ages 13-17) are $22 with kids ages 12 and under admitted free. General admission tickets can be purchased in advance at:
