WISCONSIN DELLS, WI – Having won the 2018 Alive for 5 Super Late Model Track Championship at Dells Raceway Park, Dennis Prunty now looks to win Saturday (September 5, 2020) night’s Joe Shear Classic at Dells Raceway Park. With a Slinger Nationals title in 2015 at his hometrack where he is the 2012 Track Champion, Prunty’s lone ARCA Midwest Tour checkered flag came during the 2016 Dixieland 250 at Wisconsin International Raceway. The decorated Wisconsin driver who has taken a liking to big short track events around the country, is the latest entry for Saturday’s $10,000 to win, 200-lap feature event.
His best finish in the annual event which pays tribute to Shear, a short track racing legend, is a third in May of 2016 at Madison International Speedway. The event traditionally held at MIS has been moved to Dells Raceway Park for this season and will feature infield controlled pit stops. With a total of six tires allowed, race fans will see multiple tire strategies play out throughout the event.

Joining the Midwest Tour will be the Midwest Trucks and 602 Late Models. Spectator events will open at 3pm for the Holiday weekend special event, with qualifying at 4:30 and racing at 6pm Saturday night September 5. Adult general admission tickets are $25, Seniors (65 and over) and Students (ages 13-17) are $22 with kids ages 12 and under admitted free.
General admission tickets can be purchased in advance (see link below) or at the track box office on the day of the event. Those that purchased tickets for the postponed May 3 Joe Shear Classic 200 at Madison International Speedway can use that ticket to gain admission at Dells Raceway Park Saturday September 5. For additional information please visit www.midwesttour.racing or email gm@misracing.com. Dells Raceway Park is located two miles west of I-90/94 at Exit 85 (Rocky Arbor) just off of Highway 12.
