MONTGOMERY, AL – Any time the “Show me the MONEY” Pro Late Models are racing at Montgomery Motor Speedway the fans are surely in for a show. The ‘Saturday of Speed’ 125 didn’t disappoint and proved to be epic.

Starting with ‘Bama Budweiser Qualifying’, the field of 22 put their focus on the two timed laps in front of them. On the timing system, less than a second would separated the entire field. With the top eight only separated by just over a tenth of a second.

When the dust settled it was Kyle Plott setting fast time with a lap of 19.645, followed closely by Jackson Boone with a 19.690 second lap. The Midsummer Classic 100 winner, Christopher Tullis, would log a lap of 19.700 seconds. Which was good enough for the third position on the grid. With Texan Chris Davidson and Georgian Jake Garcia rounding out the top five in time trials.

Twenty-two strong, the “Show me the MONEY” series hit the track for 125 laps. With the number 12 of Justin Bonnett (Grandson of NASCAR legend Neil Bonnett) starting on the pole, after the redraw. This race was the first one back behind the wheel for Bonnett. Since a racing incident, during the Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida this past December, that left him hospitalized.

The Ingles Demolition sponsored team had many hurdles to clear just to find themselves in their current position. As after a good practice session for the team on Friday July 31st. The motor broke on the twelve car. Sending the team into panic mode, desperately needing to find another motor and get it bolted into the car, before the event began the following day.

(fast forward 24-hours)

When the green flag dropped Bonnett showed his team why they worked so hard to get the car in the show. As he took the lead and looked to be on his way to a solid run. Until Jett Noland, wheeling the Anthony Campi Racing number #81, showed some of his teams muscle, wrestling the lead away some five laps later.

Plenty of good racing was displayed for the fans in attendance at MMS over the next 70 laps. On lap 76, 2020 Alabama 200 winner, and current “Show me the MONEY” points leader, number 35 Jake Garcia would make his move into the lead, from the eighth starting position on the grid. Although he would be challenged for the top spot on more than one occasion. Garcia held on to win round two of the series.

Jackson Boone would finish in the runner-up position. He would be followed by Jett Noland in third, Colin Allman in fourth, with pole sitter and early race leader, Justin Bonnett rounding out the top five.
