KAUKAUNA, WI – The Jurkovic name is quite familiar to those in the greater Green Bay and Kaukauna area. It is also quite familiar to those within short track auto racing circles. Boris Jurkovic, cousin to former Green Bay Packer Defensive Lineman John Yurkovic will be racing in Tuesday night’s (August 4) Gandrud Auto Group 250 at Wisconsin International Raceway. Yurkovic, the racer, is an accomplished Super Late Model driver and will be joining top drivers from across the region and nation as the ‘Stars and Cars’ of the ARCA Midwest Tour make their annual stop at the half-mile paved D-shaped oval.

Known as the ‘Repo Man’ due to his business Reliable Recovery around Chicagoland, Boris Jurkovic has won some of Super Late Model’s biggest races and now he has his sights set on taking the trophy and $10,000 check home to Illinois Tuesday. His most recent special event win came at Berlin (MI) Raceway’s Battle at Berlin 251 last season. He also counts the All-American 400 at Nashville (TN), Winchester 400 (IN) and Bettenhausen Memorial at Illiana (IN) Motor Speedway amongst his accomplishments.

Advance discount tickets for the Gandrud Auto Group 250 are $20 and can be purchased online at www.midwesttour.racing through August 3. Tickets will also be available on race day at the gate for $25. Spectator gates open at 4pm, qualifying will begin at 5pm with the first race at 7pm during the Tuesday Night August 4 Special Event at Wisconsin International Raceway.

A 28 car field is scheduled to start ‘Wisconsin’s Richest One Day Race’ which pays $10,000 to the winner of the 250 lap event and $1,200 to start. Drivers from ten states and Canada are expected to attempt to make the starting grid including NASCAR Cup Champion Kyle Busch. The Midwest Truck Series will join the ARCA Midwest Tour with the trucks contesting a 35 lap feature event. (see full entry list below)
