ANTIGONISH, NS, CA, – The 2020 edition of the IWK 250 Presented by Steve Lewis Super Race Weekend, originally scheduled for July 16 to 18 and postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions, has been rescheduled for July 22 to 24, 2021.

“We’ve waited in hopes restrictions would relax enough where it would be possible to hold the IWK 250 this year,” said Paul McLean, General Manager for Riverside. “Unfortunately, with our short season and the amount of time it takes to prepare for such a large event, even if things changed now we’ve run out of time to do it properly. We do, however, remain hopeful we could still run a smaller event or two this year.”

Prior to rescheduling the IWK 250 until 2021, management has been in continual contact with government authorities and also explored options to hold a scaled-back event, but since none were feasible for such a marquee event the tough decision was made to reschedule for next year.

The events which were scheduled for August 15 and 29 are on hold at this point with hopes they can be held in some fashion before the season ends, pending COVID-19 restrictions and start-up of the touring series scheduled to participate.

“We’re disappointed,” said MacLean. “But we totally respect and appreciate the rules put in place by authorities to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 in our area. We will continue to stay in touch with the powers that be and if things change where we can hold an event this year, we’ll let everyone know ASAP. We look forward to that time when we can be together again with our Riverside family celebrating our collective resolve to beat this pandemic.”

Fans who reserved camping spaces for this year’s IWK 250 weekend can either transfer their reservation to 2021 and keep the same space, or request a refund. Lots refunded will go back in site inventory and be available to those on the waitlist and making new reservations. Full refunds will be available to those who transfer their reservations through March 31, 2021; partial refunds would apply after that (based on the regular refund policy).

Fans should submit this form by August 31, 2020, for more details and to submit their request to either transfer their camping reservation or request a refund.

All 2020 Premium Seats and Season Passes will be transferred to 2021. Those fans will receive a confirmation to that effect in the coming weeks.

All gift certificates issued for 2020 events will be honored in 2021.
