IRWINDALE, CA – Irwindale Speedway is pleased to announce that on February 6, 2021, the ‘Sunrise Ford All-Star Showdown’ will return to Irwindale Speedway with record prize money.

In 2020, the ‘Sunrise Ford All-Star Showdown’ saw California’s Derek Thorn take home $25,000 cash for winning the Super Late Model 200 lap event, $10,000 was awarded to Pro Late Model winner Cole Williams from Sellersburg, Indiana, while Travis Thirkettle kept the money in So-Cal with his $5,000 Modified win.

Thanks to Sunrise Ford, the winner’s prize for the Super Late Model and Pro Late Model races will increase by $5,000 in 2021, awarding $30,000 and $15,000 to the respective winners of the Super Late Model and Pro Late Model feature events.

“The 2020 ‘Sunrise Ford All-Star Showdown’ was phenomenal. The awesome feedback from our fans and competitors really pushed us to try and take things to the next level in 2021” said Irwindale Speedway President Tim Huddleston. “Bob and Maureen Bruncati, Lisa and I, along with SRL and the entire Irwindale Speedway team could not be more excited about the future of this great event.”

The Sunrise Ford All-Star Showdown will also serve as the season opener for the west coast’s premier Super Late Model touring series, the SPEARS (SRL) Southwest Tour.

“There’s not a better place to start the 2021 season than at Irwindale Speedway in sunny Southern California,” stated the SRL’s Larry Collins. “And there’s not a better track when it comes to three, four and sometimes five wide racing. We appreciate Tim Huddleston and Bob Bruncati for putting this event together and having the SPEARS Southwest Tour and the Spears Manufacturing Modified Series be part of it.

The 2021 edition of the ‘Sunrise Ford All-Star Showdown’ will once again draw the top teams from around the nation to Southern California on the first weekend of February. For updates and information, go to or
